How a leading luxury company standardized reporting with a centralized data platform

Challenge
Our client faced a growing disconnect between how data was stored, interpreted, and used across the organization. Each department operated with its own tools and logic, producing reports that relied on the same data but yielded different results.
This fragmentation created major inefficiencies:
- Teams built similar reports from scratch across different departments
- The same data was extracted from different systems (Oracle vs. Salesforce), leading to inconsistencies
- Key metrics like revenue or product performance varied depending on both the source used and how the data was calculated
While data itself was available and accurate, the lack of alignment on sources, logic, and governance made it challenging to ensure consistency and trust across teams, especially as the organization looked to scale its use of data and AI.
Solution
The project began with a clear objective to build a unified data platform that could bring structure, trust, and scalability to how data was used across the company. Together with the client’s internal teams, we co-designed and implemented the platform from the ground up, using Snowflake as the foundation. We worked closely with both business and technical teams to understand their pain points, translate them into data requirements, and build a system that reflected real operational needs.
A key part of the work involved standardizing definitions and metrics. Values like revenue, best-selling products, or regional performance were being interpreted in different ways across teams. By defining these and embedding them directly into the platform, we eliminated conflicting logic and helped ensure everyone spoke the same data language. We also supported the implementation of governance practices to track data origins, standardize definitions, and ensure consistent use across tools and teams. To protect data, we implemented a structured access model, making sure the right people had the right level of visibility.
With a shared, governed source of truth in place, the client was finally positioned to build advanced analytics and AI use cases on top of reliable, high-quality data.
Impact
Standardized reporting at scale
The new data platform eliminated conflicting metrics and duplicated efforts across departments, replacing fragmented reporting with a single, governed source of truth. Teams now access consistent insights built on shared definitions, strengthening trust and enabling faster, more aligned decision-making.
Accelerated data operations
Data transformations that once took hours are now executed up to 5x faster. This improvement reduced operational overhead and allowed teams to generate insights in near real-time.
Unlocked six new use cases
With a scalable, high-quality foundation in place, the client unlocked six new use cases, setting the stage for broader AI adoption in the near future.
