Main challenge

Due to its limited scalability, slow update cycles, and inconsistent cross-hospital access, our client’s desktop-based platform for analyzing and standardizing complex healthcare data could no longer keep pace with the growing demand. The platform was used by hospitals worldwide to access and review patient test results, supporting the analysis of over 1.8 million genomic profiles and nearly 30,000 new analyses each month. By enabling the accurate analysis, standardization, and interpretation of complex healthcare data, it was helping clinicians make faster, more informed decisions.

To address the limitations of the platform’s desktop format, our client set out to build a cloud-native, SaaS solution with a web-based architecture that processes data more efficiently by leveraging microservices and the latest cloud computing.

How we helped

We supported the development of the platform’s second generation, guiding the transition from a desktop tool to a fully web-based solution. In close collaboration with the client’s engineering team, we designed and refined the user interface for several modules, ensuring a consistent and easy-to-use experience across different scenarios.

Our work contributed to the launch of the web-based platform’s MVP and its first official release. This required improving performance to handle large and growing datasets, streamlining workflows for hospital staff, and incorporating features to support accessibility across multiple regions. By helping create a scalable, cloud-based foundation, we strengthened the platform’s capacity to integrate advanced analytics and AI capabilities in the future and to deliver even greater value to healthcare providers worldwide.

The impact

Improved speed and reliability

Serving over 800 healthcare institutions in 70+ countries and supporting the analysis of more than two million patients’ genomic profiles, the platform’s new web-based platform is now a highly scalable, cloud-based solution capable of handling increasing data volumes and user demand.

Broader access for healthcare providers

Performance optimizations, streamlined workflows, and improved accessibility across multiple regions have made the platform easier to use and widely available to hospitals and medical teams around the world.

A future-ready foundation

The new cloud-based architecture now provides a solid foundation for ongoing product evolution, making it easier to integrate advanced analytics and AI capabilities to enhance patient care further.
